The Toronto Raptors have had an impressive season and currently have a five-game cushion over the Boston Celtics who sit in the second spot in the Eastern Conference. With that type of cushion, it has opened up the possibility for the Raptors to rest some players.

Josh Lewenberg of TSN asked Dwane Casey about resting players and he said it was a real possibility:

“Yeah, we may do that. It's something we'll look at”, goes on to say they'd prefer to rest guys now than right before the playoffs so they don't lose their rhythm.

Now, what day the players are rested still seems very much up in the air. It might make more sense to rest players tonight with the Magic being considered the worse team and probably the easier team to beat without their full complement of players.

On the other hand, though, it might make more sense for them to try and lose against the Cavaliers and keep them in the third spot in hopes they wouldn't have to meet them until the Eastern Conference Finals.

If they do decide to sit DeRozan in one of the games, they are going to have a lot of production to make up. On the season, DeRozan is averaging 23.7 points, 5.1 assists and 4.0 rebounds per game. He is also shooting 46 percent from the field and 32.4 percent from deep.
