Detroit Pistons center Andre Drummond had his hands full in trying to guard the Philadelphia 76ers’ Joel Embiid in their recent matchup. According to The Detroit News’ Rod Beard, Drummond feels he didn’t quite know what was coming when he was defending the Sixers big man given his offensive versatility.

In just a short span of time on the court, Embiid has proven himself to be one of the most complete offensive big men in the game. From his post-up game to his shooting that stretches all the way out to the 3-point line, there’s just so much Embiid can do on that end of the court.

Embiid clearly had the better of Drummond in their matchup, going for 30 points on 11-of-15 shooting, along with nine rebounds and two steals in 28 minutes. He also didn’t pull any punches when he said Drummond doesn’t play any defense.
After getting a full game to play against Embiid and adjusting to his style, it’ll be interesting to see whether Drummond can do much better in their next matchup on Dec. 2.
