Despite what was reported previously that the Philadelphia 76ers may act as buyers by opting to use their first round pick and convert it to multiple second rounders ahead of the trade deadline, that may not be the option they could go for after all. When asked what the team needs via a trade, Brett Brown shared that he hopes to get a scorer and outside shooter to bolster their lineup, according to Keith Pompey of the Philly Inquirer.

Even with the likes of Joel Embiid, Ben Simmons, J.J. Redick and Dario Saric, just to name a few, already in their fold, the veteran head coach could still see a lack of scoring punch in the team, and adding another one that could come off the bench will only make them better moving forward. They do have some assets they can move to get what he wishes for in return, but the Sixers may need to move faster as the deadline is fast approaching and this is the first time he has made it known what he thinks the team needs.
There are a number of players the 76ers can go after and their first round pick could be appealing for other teams, especially with a very deep pool of talent in next June's draft. However, it will also not be surprising if they just hold on to it if they feel they won't be able to maximize the return for it, unless they receive an offer that includes a proven scorer which they'll find very hard to resist.
