There has been a level of secrecy surrounding 76ers rookie Markelle Fultz and his mysterious shoulder injury, but as he gets closer to a return, he did an interview with TNT during the 76ers and Wizards on Tuesday night.
The doctors said he was going to have to redo his shooting motion and it sounds like he has had some difficulties with it. Fultz said:
It's been tough, but at the end of the day, it's going to make me better. I'm just going through it, I want to go out there as quick as I can but it's been a slow process.
When asked how frustrated he was with not being able to return to the court, he had this to say:
Article Continues BelowIt's very frustrating, I am a competitor and I want to be out there real bad competing with my team so it's been tough really, but at the end of the day it's going to make me better.
Fultz was the number one pick in last year's draft but only appeared in four games before the shoulder injury popped up. In those four games, he averaged 19 minutes and put up six points per game.
His knock coming out of college was his jump shot and with a shoulder injury, it will be interesting how the new jump shot looks and how successful it is.
For when he is going to be back is, that is another question. He is expected to be back before the end of the year, but there is not an exact timetable.
