Since being traded to the Oklahoma City Thunder, there has been much anticipation building up around All-Star forward Carmelo Anthony's return back to Madison Square Garden.
During his first official introduction back at the venue he played in for seven years, Anthony was given a touching video tribute that saw him get a loud ovation from the crowd.

Although Anthony's tenure didn't feature much success over the last four seasons, he was a staple with the Knicks. He was the unquestioned face of the franchise that put together numerous memorable performances at Madison Square Garden including the venue record of 62 points scored. Meanwhile, he helped lead the team to three playoff appearances over 6 1/2 seasons.
Anthony is also seventh all-time in career points in franchise history while holding the team-best marks of 31 consecutive games with 20 or more points, and is tied with Hall of Famer Benard King with three straight 40-point outings. He had some of his best individual campaigns in New York earning seven All-Star selections, an All-NBA Second Team nod, an All-NBA Third Team selection, and his only NBA scoring title.
The last few couple of seasons with the organization proved to be quite rocky, but he remained committed to the franchise through it. With the crowd recognizing the contributions that he made the team over his tenure, it may have likely provided him the closure he needed on his time there.
