The Oklahoma City Thunder got back on the winning track after losing their last two games, toppling the Indiana Pacers 114-96 on Wednesday night.
This date was circled on Paul George's calendar, as the first time he'd see his former team after being traded this offseason — but it didn't pan out as gloriously as he had expected. The All-Star swingman fouled out after only 19 minutes of play, scoring a mere 10 points on 4-of-8 shooting from the floor.
Teammates Russell Westbrook and Carmelo Anthony led the way in scoring, each tallying 28 points to pace the Thunder to a comfortable win, despite playing an All-Star show.
Anthony took the chance to bust George's chops during an interview with the NBA on ESPN crew, noting George's quick ending to a much-anticipated debut against his former team.

“That was just a great win for us,” said Anthony. “I'm glad we went and got this one for PG, even though he was a no-show today with fouling out.”
Fouling out against your former team is not what Melo had in mind, PG. 😂 pic.twitter.com/laJbmohBpN

George's numbers have proven anemic to start the season, averaging only 18.5 points, 4.5 rebounds, and 2.8 assists per game, while still being an elite-level thief with 2.5 steals per game. The swingman has struggled with his shot, making only 39 percent of his field goals and shooting 30 percent from deep four games into the year.
