When Carmelo Anthony and Paul George came to the fold of the Oklahoma City Thunder over the offseason, not everyone was convinced that the newest Big Three they formed with Russell Westbrook would result to success. Chemistry and their ability to adapt to each other’s style of play were among the points skeptics noted as reasons as to why the Thunder would fail.

Westbrook was the unquestioned alpha male of Oklahoma City last season and with the addition of two ball-demanding pieces in Anthony and George, it seemed that the order of power within the team was in danger of getting rearranged.

Anthony, however, is doing his part to help the Thunder cope with the big changes on their team by simply staying away from Westbrook’s lane. In an interview with Royce Young of ESPN, Anthony said he’s all in on being a support for Westbrook.

“We came here for you,” Anthony said he told Westbrook. “We came here because we believe in what you can do and what you bring to the game, and we don't want you to stop doing that. We want you to be that player, we want you to be that person, and we'll fit in.”

The Thunder are just 2-3 as of this writing, as they continue to get used to their suddenly star-studded lineup. It might take time before the team gets on the same page, but they’d rather have their share of difficulties now than later in the season.
