The Oklahoma City Thunder has managed to lose 12 times this season when being the favorite coming into a game, five more than any other NBA team this 2017-18 season, according to ESPN Stats & Info. The newly-assembled superteam has been favored in 19 of their 20 games, the one exception being last week's game against the Golden State Warriors.

Yet despite their three-headed monster of reigning MVP Russell Westbrook and All-Stars Paul George and Carmelo Anthony, the Thunder are mired in a three-game skid, losing four out of their last five games after thinking they had started to figure things out after beating the Warriors the day before Thanksgiving.

Their 8-12 record is compounded by losses to Western Conferences bottom-dwellers like the Sacramento Kings and the Dallas Mavericks and most-recently the Orlando Magic, who snapped a nine-game skid against the Thunder on Wednesday night.
OKC has already had a closed-door meeting between players nine games ago after losing four straight, and that hasn't seemed to solve the inconsistency from quarter to quarter.
“It's my responsibility to make sure we're ready to play on both sides of the ball,” Westbrook said after Wednesday's loss to the Magic, according to The Associated Press. “To get us out of this funk we've got to lock in. That starts with me and I'll take ownership because I've been here (and) I know the standards we set.”
