Oklahoma City Thunder forward Paul George is preparing himself for his much-awaited return to Indiana on Wednesday, his first time back since being traded to the Thunder in the offseason. He says he expects boos from the Hoosier crowd when he steps back onto his old home court.

“Boos! I honestly wouldn't think it'd be any other way. The Pacers fans outweigh the Paul George fans. That's what I look forward to.”

Unfortunately, the booing of a former star player upon his return to his old city is seemingly just par for the course these days. It should be noted that George did not demand a trade out of Indiana like Kyrie Irving did in Cleveland. But that won’t matter for the Pacers crowd which will greet their old hero with boos.

There likely won’t be quite as vociferous a reception for George as there was for Kevin Durant when he went back to Oklahoma City, and there will hopefully be a good number of fans who will choose to cheer for George and thank him for his seven very good years of service to the team.

Nevertheless, George may be right to expect a good number of fans to boo him for involuntarily leaving Indiana, however misguided that may seem.
