In wake of Russell Westbrook signing the supermax contract of five years worth $205 million, the attention around the Oklahoma City Thunder has shifted toward Paul George's pending free agency next summer.
In the time since then, George has spoken highly of the organization and he has now begun to praise the tight bond in the locker room, according to Tim McMahon of ESPN.com.
“It's a real brotherhood in this locker room.”
The Thunder have quickly made a strong impression on George over the last few weeks that have given off the notion that he may seriously consider re-signing with the team next summer when he elects to become an unrestricted free agent. There has already been a strong relationship developed with many of the players on the team.
However, all this will be dependent on how the Thunder finish this upcoming season. The additions of both George and Carmelo Anthony have elevated them to potential title contenders and the biggest threat to the Golden State Warriors in the Western Conference.
If they are able to meet those lofty expectations to at least seriously challenge the Warriors in the Western Conference Finals, it could be enough to convince George to stay in Oklahoma City.
