Despite the comments Kevin Durant made about having “nothing but love” for him, Russell Westbrook made it clear that he does not consider him a friend anymore, especially inside the court.

When asked about the heated exchanges he had with the Golden State Warriors forward, the Oklahoma City Thunder star said it doesn’t matter who he goes up against in a game, his only friend is the basketball, and of course, his teammates. He also added that he plays the same way night in and night out, and that he won’t change his ways, as he has been like that since day one.

The reigning MVP had a very impressive performance on the night, finishing only one assist shy of a triple-double, to go along with 34 points and 10 rebounds. More importantly, he finally won over the Warriors for the first time since Kevin Durant left the Thunder last year.

Russell Westbrook has always been a fierce competitor on the court, and with Durant not backing down on the challenge he poses, it definitely sets up more must-watch battles between the two in this year’s regular season.
