The Oklahoma City Thunder are on its heels until superstar forward Paul George announces his decision on which team he'll play for next. The Los Angeles Lakers have long been rumored as a potential landing spot for their hometown boy as early as last summer when George basically held the Indiana Pacers captive with his intent to eventually play for the purple and gold.

However, a year of good chemistry with Russell Westbrook may have changed all that. ESPN's Zach Lowe hinted on the dynamic swingman's near future.

George's 2017-18 season doesn't jump out of the window, but he further legitimized his status as one of the league's best two-way players by virtue of his career-high 2.0 steals per game average. He had fit in seamlessly alongside Westbrook and Carmelo Anthony, two ball-dominant players, and their triumvirate helped the Thunder reach the playoffs only to bow down to an upstart Utah Jazz squad in the first round.

Still, last year's OKC iteration was a very dangerous one, handily defeating the Golden State Warriors on a couple of occasions.

The Thunder can offer George continuity, a bonafide superstar tandem, and more money. But the hometown allure is something that can't be counted out especially with a potential partnership with LeBron James looming.
