The Oklahoma City Thunder have a solid roster of versatile players, and they have shown signs of becoming a formidable powerhouse in the near future.
One of the keys to that roster and the Thunder's record is Andre Roberson, arguably the team's best perimeter defender. Roberson is a negative on offense, but his defense is so important that the team can ignore his shortcomings on the other side of the ball.
But since Roberson hurt his knee and was declared out for the year, the Thunder have started to slip. They have lost four in a row, including a close loss the Los Angeles Lakers.
Without Roberson, the Thunder are looking to add a player to help them maximize their season before the trade deadline, per Royce Young of ESPN.

Still, the Thunder have been active engaging on the trade market, according to league sources, checking for wing additions…The growing expectation is the Thunder make a move by Thursday's deadline, because there's just too much riding on this season to not.
No one is picking the Thunder to win the NBA championship or even make the Finals. But with players like Russell Westbrook, Paul George, and Carmelo Anthony, there will be expectations. And despite a slow start, the Thunder are getting closer to meeting them.
But losing Roberson really hurt the Thunder. It will be a challenge to pick up a wing player because the Thunder don't have any valuable draft picks to trade for the next few years, and they would rather not give up any of their promising young players.
But the Thunder are looking to find a deal somewhere for someone, but there's no telling what deal is quite yet.
