Carmelo Anthony arguably got the hottest hands among the Oklahoma City Thunder’s superstar triumvirate during Friday’s road game against the up-and-coming Philadelphia 76ers, but good luck telling Russell Westbrook that.

During one play in the fourth quarter, Westbrook drove the lane and attacked the basket although he could’ve passed the ball to Anthony, who was wide-open at the corner. Westbrook got the ball back and still refused to give the ball to Anthony, leaving the Thunder forward making a gesture with obvious disbelief.

It’s just one moment in a game filled with a ton of possessions, but it speaks a lot about the challenges the Thunder have in terms of making a superstar-riddled roster work. There are reasons why they are just 13-14 heading in their first 27 games of the season, which is way below par of people’s expectations of Oklahoma City prior to the season, and this could be one of those.

The season is still long, however, and the Thunder certainly could find a way to smooth their chemistry and add fluidity to their sometimes, if not often, jangled offense.

Somewhere, Kevin Durant could be found watching the game chuckling and uttering, “I told you so” repeatedly under his breath.
