Oklahoma City Thunder point guard has intensity for days.
In the Thunder's wild triple-overtime win over the Philadelphia 76ers on Friday, Westbrook notched yet another triple double, recording 27 points, 18 rebounds and 15 assists. But it took him 33 shots to get those 27, and he only made 10 of them.
That's less than 30 percent shooting from the field.
But in his postgame comments to ESPN's Doris Burke, he made clear that shooting poorly was not something he was worried about. Not even a little bit.
“My job is to never stop, regardless of percentages,” Westbrook said. “I don't really give a damn about percentages, honestly. All I care about is wins. As long as we win, that's all I care about.”
Shooting only 10 for 33 is not very good on paper, but Westbrook clearly led that team to a victory with his all-around play. And with the Thunder struggling to find a rhythm with so many new players, any win should be celebrated — no matter how they get there.

It'll be interesting to see, however, how that amount of shots goes over with the rest of his teammates — mainly Paul George and Carmelo Anthony — going forward. Westbrook has two very prolific scorers as teammates, but he's still gunning as if he is the only offensive option.
It would benefit Westbrook to try harder to get some of his new teammates shots, especially in crunch time.
