When competing in games, Oklahoma City Thunder star guard Russell Westbrook is one of the most focused and fiercest players in the league today. He rarely does things other than keeping his mind on the task at hand, which has been an admirable characteristic of Westbrook.

However on Saturday versus the Golden State Warriors, the reigning MVP was seen being friendly with a young kid who was seated beside him while on the bench. He even waved his hand and she responded by doing the same, which brought a smile to her companion.

While it's not a common sight to see Westbrook trying to make friends or even saying hi to fans in the middle of games, his actions inside Oracle Arena also goes to show that he has a soft side to him as well. It is the complete opposite when he plays, though, as he is always fired up, but the young girl brought out a side of Westbrook rarely seen, especially during games.

Westbrook may have been in a good mood when he made friends with the young fan, but he and his Thunder team did not have a lot to cheer for on the night as they were blown out by the Dubs, 112-80. His night was marred by Zaza Pachulia's fall on his leg, but Westbrook still had a solid outing though as he finished with 15 points, 12 rebounds and seven assists, but his efforts were not enough to win the game for the Thunder.

The Warriors, on the other hand, were led by Kevin Durant and Stephen Curry, who recorded 28 and 21 points, respectively. The victory kept them within a half-game behind the Houston Rockets for the top spot in the Western Conference and started their stretch run on a high note.
