Just last night, Oklahoma City Thunder guard Russell Westbrook played 52 minutes in a three-overtime barnburner win over the Philadelphia 76ers on the road. Most players who logged in that many minutes wouldn’t be able to muster enough energy to play with the same intensity the following day. Then again, not everyone is Russell Westbrook.
To underscore Westbrook’s superhuman capabilities, let us show you a thundering dunk by the reigning MVP during the third quarter of Saturday’s match with the New York Knicks under the bright lights of the Madison Square Garden.

He could’ve just made a simple layup there, but he is Russell Westbrook and Russell Westbrook never gets tired. Russell Westbrook will spend as much energy as he can if that meant making a statement slam. For all we know, he’s now lifting and turning truck tires at the Garden’s parking lot following the showdown with the Knicks.
Westbrook would finish the night with a team-high 25 points on 9-of-18 shooting from the field along with seven rebounds and seven assists, but those numbers weren’t enough to push the Thunder to a win, as they took a 111-96 loss.
The 14-15 Thunder will have a much-needed one-day rest Sunday, though, before heading back home looking to get back to .500 when they host the visiting Denver Nuggets.
