The NBA apparently has a secret wine club, and Jimmy Butler is the treasurer.
Butler, the Minnesota Timberwolves star, takes his love of wine to one of the deepest levels, per Baxter Holmes of ESPN.

Butler is not the only one in that Holmes story with an interesting wine habit. There are stars all over the NBA that have started and are now fully on the trend of wine.
But Butler actually bringing a wine case with him on the road is stuff of legend. Is it only pinot noir, or does he have different wine cases for different trips?
Article Continues BelowIt seems quite dangerous to put a wine case in the regular luggage while a team is flying from city to city. So does Butler carry his wine case with him? We should all be very worried about the safety of very expensive wine.
But assuming the wine is safe and not being wasted, Butler seems like one of the last NBA players one would think of that was into wine at all. Not that Butler isn't a sophisticated human being or anything.
It's just that Butler has almost always seems a bit like a quirky individual. Actually, that's maybe precisely why he picked up the wine-snob habit.
Ultimately, the reason doesn't matter. Butler and the rest of the NBA players are infinitely more interesting now that this story is out. And Butler has just cemented himself as one of the sultans of cool.
