Toronto Raptors general manager Bobby Webster says the franchise is putting the finishing touches on its pitch for Kawhi Leonard to stay in Toronto this summer.
Leonard becomes an unrestricted free agent this offseason once he declines his 2019-20 player option with the Raptors. It's widely assumed that Leonard will either re-sign with Toronto to sign with the Los Angeles Clippers. Free agency starts on June 30.

Collecting those and putting them more in presentation, or a little more in order, will help … as we start to think about the different ways to pitch him.
“Obviously we’ll want to put a couple special touches on it. But throughout the year we’ve been talking about the things we can offer and what made this season so special. I think we’ll just continue that.”
The Raptors can offer Leonard the most money in free agency and a fifth year on his contract. The team did a great job this past season of managing Leonard's health, something the superstar appreciated given everything that happened with him on the San Antonio Spurs during the 2017-18 season.
Leonard was a man among boys during the 2019 playoffs. The three-time All-Star, two-time Defensive Player of the Year and now two-time Finals MVP averaged 30.5 points, 9.1 rebounds and 3.9 assists while shooting 49.0 percent from the field, 37.9 percent from beyond the arc and 88.4 percent from the free-throw line.
Raptors fans are hoping Leonard will decide to come back for at least another season. If Kawhi does leave, though, the fans and city will still appreciate everything he did for them in 2018-19.
