Draymond Green got his 15th technical foul of the season rescinded by the league office on Monday after finding no conclusive evidence the Golden State Warriors power forward was screaming at an official or at the prone Jerami Grant.

Green had met Grant at the rim, stuffing a dunk attempt, and attempted to fire up the crowd near the end of the second quarter with his defensive play and a loud scream. The sideline referee assessed the tech despite Green's plea to allow for a replay of the event.

“I was very happy,” Green said following the Warriors’ win over the New York Knicks on Monday, according to Mark Medina of the San Jose Mercury News. “A little breathing room. Just a little bit, though.”

With only 14 technical fouls, Green is still two away from a one-game suspension — a reason to worry with 20 games still left in the regular season. Technical fouls are then wiped out for the ensuing postseason.

Head coach Steve Kerr didn't think his spark plug had done any wrong in that instance.

“I talked to Bob (Myers) about it after the game. We both felt like it would be rescinded,” Kerr said. “He was trying to get the crowd going. He wasn’t taunting. He wasn’t actually complaining about the call.”

Green wasn't surprised that the league rescinded his technical foul for the first time this season, but rather relieved that it happened.

“Not necessarily surprised; I thought it was a high possibility it would get rescinded,” Green said. “But I didn’t think I did anything wrong.”

Green avoided a suspension last season by staying right under the 16-technical limit, finishing with 15 during the 206-17 campaign.
