Despite being included in some trade rumors as Thursday’s deadline nears, Golden State Warriors center JaVale McGee still remains with the team and no deal has materialized yet. While there is growing belief that he will be moved, he made it known that he prefers to stay in Oakland.
The 30-year-old Nevada product understands that getting traded, especially in the middle of the season, is not going to be easy for any player. However, he also added, via Melissa Rohlin of The Mercury News, that he will accept whatever will happen to him ahead of the deadline, as he also knows the business side of the NBA.

If I don’t, I don’t. I don’t want to get traded but, if I do, I’m not complaining or bad-mouthing anyone. It’s business.”
McGee was a key piece for the Dubs in their title run by being a strong inside presence for them. His ability to rebound and protect the rim has been very valuable to the team, and allows their stars to focus more on the offensive end as they know they have the 7-foot center manning the paint.
The veteran center may not be scoring a lot, but a number of teams around the league will definitely benefit if they have him in their fold which makes his potential trade something worth keeping an eye on. If he lands with a contender, he could turn out to be an under-the-radar addition that may pay dividends for that franchise.
