Golden State Warriors forward Kevin Durant will play tonight against the Oklahoma City Thunder, according to Anthony Slater of The Athletic.

Durant missed the team’s last game against the Brooklyn Nets with this ankle injury, making that two absences in the last six games — his first stemming from a thigh contusion from the opening minutes of a physical outing against the Miami Heat.

The Finals MVP has faced his former team three out of four times last season, his first two at home and the third at his old stomping grounds, the Chesapeake Energy Arena. Durant promptly dropped 39, 40, and 34 in his three games against former running mate Russell Westbrook, shooting an incandescent 65.6 percent from the floor.

Boos were loud during his first time back in Oklahoma City, but head coach Steve Kerr expects this to be slightly different this time around.

“I expect he’ll get quite a reception, both good and bad, Kerr said, according to Mark Medina of the San Jose Mercury News. But it’ll always be special when KD walks into this building. He made too big of an impact and this city made too big of an impact on him.”

The Thunder are coming off losses to the New Orleans Pelicans and the San Antonio Spurs, blowing double-digit leads on both games. The Warriors have beaten the Philadelphia 76ers and the Brooklyn Nets over the weekend after losing their first bar-measuring game of the season against a streaking Boston Celtics team.
