Stephen Curry and Kevin Durant may have only joined forces last season with the Golden State Warriors, but they already go way back as teammates as they were part of the 2010 USA Men’s Basketball Team that competed in the FIBA World Championships in Istanbul, Turkey.
The two superstars shared how they started forming their strong bond back then during a recent interview with ESPN’s Rachel Nichols, before the former back-to-back MVP remembered that Durant was one of the first people to find out that he was planning to propose to his then-girlfriend, Ayesha Curry. The eight-time All-Star forward then recalled seeing him stressed during dinner and even asking him if he was already certain about asking his now wife to marry him.

The interview goes to show that the two were already on good terms even before Durant announced his decision to bring his talents to Oakland in the summer of 2016. That could explain why it did not take long for him to adjust to his new teammates, including Curry, and play his normal game.
With a championship under their belt and the Dubs' core intact, Curry and Durant may start a dynasty as long as they continue to play at a very high level. The bond between them is a big part of their success and there’s no doubt that they also trust each other as the star point guard even shared his plans of proposing to his wife to him seven years ago.
