In an unforeseen chain of events, the NBA league office has rescinded Draymond Green's 15th technical foul, one which was assessed to him after stuffing Oklahoma City Thunder forward Jerami Grant at the rim during Saturday's 112-80 win, according to ESPN Insider Bobby Marks.

Green was visibly yelling at the crowd, as a means to hype them up after a key defensive play. The Golden State Warriors forward walked away and motioned for the officials to review the play, but it was to no avail.

In a showcase game broadcasted by ABC, ESPN commentators agreed that Green's emotional yelling was not directed to either the officials, or Grant, who was laying on the floor after his dunk attempt was rejected.

Green's 15th technical foul would put him just one away from a one-game suspension — a caveat he happened to avoid recently, finishing the 2016-17 season with 15 technical fouls. The Warriors forward recently said he wasn't losing sleep to whether the league office would take back the technical or not.

“I got kids — I’m worried about how they grow up,” Green said, according to Melissa Rohlin of the San Jose Mercury News. “I’m not worried about a technical foul. I’m worried about raising my kids. There’s bigger things in life than a tech.”

His coach Steve Kerr said he didn’t think Green deserved a technical foul on that play.

“I didn’t think he did anything,” Kerr said. “From my angle, he was looking in the stands and trying to get the crowd into it. I understand the guy was on the ground so maybe the ref thought he was taunting him.”

This is the first tech the league has rescinded from Green this season.
