The Washington Wizards have had a lot of movement on their roster to start 2026, but the one thing that has remained is their young core. Alex Sarr is one of them, and he continues to showcase his skills in every game. Unfortunately, he'll be sidelined for some time due to injury, according to ESPN's Shams Charania.

“Washington Wizards center Alex Sarr has sustained a right hamstring strain and will miss approximately two weeks, sources tell ESPN. Sarr, one of three players averaging at least 17 points, 7 rebounds, and 2 blocks per game this season, is now out for Friday's Rising Stars game,” Charania wrote on X, formerly Twitter.

The good news for Sarr is that it happened right before the All-Star break, so he has time to recover without the Wizards having a game. Hamstring injuries are not to be taken lightly, and the hope is that he can return to full health in those two weeks.

The Wizards are already dealing with injuries, and it's to some of the players that they've traded for this season. Trae Young has been sidelined since he got traded to the Wizards as he recovers from MCL and quad injuries on the same leg. He's supposed to be re-evaluated after the All-Star break, and it will be interesting to see if he suits up at some point for the team this season.

As for Anthony Davis, he's still recovering from his hand injury that he suffered with the Dallas Mavericks, and though there were rumblings that he was going to sit out for the rest of the season, the Wizards said that they expect him to play when he's healthy.

With their two stars injured, it has given the young guys on the team more minutes on the court to continue to grow and develop alongside each other.
