Syracuse Orange talent Dominick Parker has been accused of sexual assault. An 18-year-old player, he was only added to the roster 12 days ago as a walk-on. According to a report, he was arrested on Friday and charged with sexual abuse in the first degree.

Syracuse.com was first to report the story.

The university has already released a statement regarding the matter.

“On Friday, Sept. 15, a Syracuse University student was arrested by the City of Syracuse Police Department (SPD) and charged with sexual abuse. The University has since issued an interim suspension order against the accused student, effective immediately. Sexual and relationship violence is not tolerated at Syracuse University. We are now doing all that we can to support and provide assistance to those affected by the alleged incident. As this is an ongoing investigation, Syracuse University will not be providing further comment.”

To be specific, Dominick Parker is accused of having sexual contact with an 18-year old female student while she was incapable of giving consent. Parker, who is from Stamford, N.Y., was arraigned last Saturday and is scheduled to appear in court on Thursday.

The school has already removed him from any and all attachments to school related websites. Something not abnormal under these sort of circumstances.

For what is relatively unimportant basketball context; he was the sixth man last season at LaSalle Institute in Troy, N.Y. after transferring there from his hometown high school in Stamford. SU's basketball roster had listed him as a 6-foot-1, 186-pound guard.
