The UConn Huskies edged out a double-overtime win against the Auburn Tigers on Wednesday in their Quarterfinals matchup of the Bad Boy Mowers Battle 4 Atlantis mid-season tournament. The thrilling matchup went back and forth to the bitter end, but Uconn emerged victoriously.
It wasn't without a significant scare, however. Huskies forward Isaiah Whaley collapsed in front of the bench during the closing seconds of the game, and was immediately helped by members of the team's medical staff.
After the game, the Huskies provided an update on Whaley's status, explaining to fans that he was okay after fainting late in double-overtime.
Update: @IsaiahWhaley fainted at the end of the game, but is doing okay now. Thank you everyone for your concern and well wishes.

It was a scary scene for everyone in the arena, but fortunately, it was nothing more serious for the young athlete. Whaley logged 43 minutes in the win, recording two points, seven rebounds, four assists and four blocks. He wasn't even the UConn player to log the most minutes, as R.J. Cole was on the floor for 47 minutes.
Despite the game going into double-overtime, both UConn and Auburn only used nine players each. Two Auburn players featured for less than 10 minutes, including one player, Babatunde Akingbola, who had just one minute. That means Auburn relied almost entirely upon seven players to carry the load during the double-overtime game, which spanned 50 minutes of game time. That's a tall task for these young players, and it's easy to see why Whalen was so fatigued after his 43-minute shift.
Unfortunately for Whalen and the rest of the Huskies, UConn is due to play the Michigan State Spartans on Thursday, leaving little turnaround for rest and recovery before another potentially grueling matchup. The Spartans are coming off a 63-61 victory over Loyola-Chicago.
