UCLA football is going into a big game on Saturday without its star quarterback. Nico Iamaleava will miss Saturday's game for UCLA against Ohio State, per On3. The quarterback is dealing with a concussion.

That's bad news for the Bruins. Iamaleava has started all of the team's games, and is the only quarterback who has attempted a pass for UCLA this season, the outlet reported.

UCLA has found a resurgence this season after firing their former head coach, DeShaun Foster. This season Iamaleava has thrown 12 touchdown passes while rushing for four more. He has completed 63 percent of his passes.

The Bruins are 3-6 on the season. UCLA has Big Ten conference wins over Penn State, Michigan State, and Maryland. UCLA has dropped its last two games to Indiana and Nebraska.

Ohio State enters Saturday's game with the no. 1 ranking in the country, and an undefeated record.

The UCLA football team has already posted a huge upset victory this season, over Penn State. That victory changed the course of the season for both squads. Penn State soon fired its head coach, James Franklin, after that loss. UCLA meanwhile put together a three-game winning streak starting with that victory.

The Bruins will need a big performance from its backup quarterback to defeat a powerful Ohio State team.

“Sophomore back-up Luke Duncan, whose only action this season was against Michigan State on Oct. 11, is expected to get his first career start vs. the No. 1 ranked Buckeyes,” On3 reported.

Ohio State is ranked first in the country, and looking to return to the College Football Playoff. The Buckeyes are the defending national champions. Ohio State is 9-0 on the campaign.

Ohio State and UCLA football take the field Saturday at 7:30 ET. UCLA must win its remaining three games to make a bowl game. The Bruins also play USC and Washington, later this season.
