The USC Trojans figure to have a new face under center in 2022, as quarterback Kedon Slovis has reportedly entered the transfer portal, according to college football insider Pete Thamel. Slovis' decision to enter the portal comes less than two weeks after it was announced that Lincoln Riley would take over as head coach at USC, though it's unclear if Riley's arrival is related to Slovis' impending departure.

Slovis was a three-year starter for the Trojans, having featured in 27 games throughout his career with the program. The former three-star recruit completed 68.4% of his pass attempts while at USC, throwing for 58 touchdowns and 24 interceptions. He will reportedly enter the transfer portal as a graduate transfer.

Slovis is just the latest talented quarterback to declare his intentions to transfer programs. He joins a group of transferring QBs consisting of Oklahoma's Spencer Rattler, Auburn's Bo Nix, LSU's Myles Brennan, and Tennessee's Harrison Bailey, among others.

There had been some discussion as to whether Slovis would submit himself for the 2022 NFL Draft, however, his emergence on the transfer portal indicates his intentions to play one more year at the collegiate level before turning professional.

Slovis had a phenomenal freshman season for the Trojans in 2019, during which he threw 30 touchdown passes and just nine interceptions. He failed to replicate that type of performance over the next two seasons, however and was limited to just 15 games throughout his sophomore and junior seasons.

The 20-year-old will look to earn a starting role at whatever program he ends up with, though there isn't much indication as to what schools have interest in Slovis.
