Ben Simmons is set to return to the court soon after dealing with a back injury for quite some time. Unfortunately for the Brooklyn Nets, the injury woes continue as another key player fell with a similar injury against the Boston Celtics on Sunday.

According to Cassidy Hubbarth, Cam Thomas was ruled out and won't return to the game. It's unclear how severe the injury is for Thomas, but if it's anything like Ben Simmons' situation, the Nets could be without Thomas for a decent amount of time. We won't know more information on the injury until after the game concludes.

The rookie shooting guard has played a vital role off the bench for this team, averaging 9.8 points, 2.6 rebounds, and 1.4 assists per game. Thomas isn't a star right now, but the Nets are going to miss his production on the floor if he ends up missing time. It would have been nice to see Brooklyn have a fully healthy roster, but we might have to wait until the playoffs for that to happen. Assuming this franchise makes the postseason.

Luckily for the Nets, they should have a relatively healthy roster soon. Ben Simmons is due to come back which should increase their chances of making the playoffs. Brooklyn has enough scoring between Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving, so Simmons has a chance to resurrect his career as a pass-first point guard. We'll see how it plays out for this organization, as the Easter Conference is extremely competitive this year.

Keep an eye on any reports on Cam Thomas, as we should know the rookie's injury status in the coming days.
