Brooklyn Nets general manager Sean Marks told reporters on Tuesday the team will monitor shooting guard Joe Harris in training camp because of his recent FIBA World Cup workload.

There's no point for the Nets to overwork Harris in training camp since he was just in China playing in the World Cup for Team USA. Brooklyn needs Harris fresh for the playoffs. For that to happen, head coach Kenny Atkinson has to be careful with his minutes during the regular season since there are 82 games.

With Kevin Durant expected to miss the entire 2019-20 season recovering from his Achilles injury, Joe Harris is arguably the best shooter on the Nets. The 28-year-old averaged 13.7 points, 3.8 rebounds and 2.4 assists last season while shooting an impressive 50.0 percent from the field, 47.4 percent from beyond the arc and 82.7 percent from the free-throw line.

Harris should get his fair share of open looks from the perimeter playing alongside Kyrie Irving, who is one of the best slashers in the game and collapses the paint every time he drives to the basket.

Everyone around the league is eager to see how far the Nets can go sans Durant. We know what to expect from Irving since he's a star in the league. Guys like Harris, Spencer Dinwiddie, Caris LeVert and DeAndre Jordan have to be consistent all season for the Nets to be an elite team.
