For sure, Brooklyn Nets guard Landry Shamet received a gift of some sort from James Harden after he willingly agreed to give his no.13 jersey to his new superstar teammate. The only question is, what did he get?

The Beard offered a rather cryptic response about this on Saturday after the Nets defeated the Orlando Magic, 122-115, in his debut for the team.

James Harden and Landry Shamet actually had a hilarious back and forth on social media earlier, where the two discussed what it would take for Shamet to switch numbers. Shamet even shared a hilarious meme about the haul of gifts he expects from the one-time MVP for doing him a favor.

Harden, after all, has been known to generously give extravagant gifts to his peers. Rapper Lil Baby revealed last December that Harden really spares no expense when it comes to spoiling his friends. It seems that Shamet has already gotten the spoils from Harden since he reverted back to his old no.20 against the Magic. He pitched in five points in 17 minutes of play off the bench.

As for Harden, his first game as a member of the Nets couldn't have gone any better. He recorded a 30-point triple-double right off the bat — marking the first time this has been accomplished by a debuting player for a new team. Harden even set a new franchise record with 14 dimes while wearing his signature no.13 threads.

Landry Shamet's act of selflessness, meanwhile, is certainly a welcome sight for Brooklyn and its fans. That simple act alone does signal that the Nets are welcoming their new superstar with open arms.
