Despite falling short of their title aspirations, Brooklyn Nets superstar Kevin Durant is loving life in the Big Apple. And more importantly, he's even more energized because both teams in New York are good again. That's right, he is loving the rivalry with the Knicks.

KD recently spoke on his Out of the Office podcast with business partner Rich Kleiman on the matter:

“Knicks and Nets fans got a little beef right now cause both teams are solid. We got the Madison Square Garden-Barclays beef as well in the city, so it just felt like a lot of energy, man,” the Nets forward said. “You look in our stands, you seein' superstars there: Beyonce, Jay-Z, H.E.R., Bryan Cranston … you see that energy floating around in our building for games like that now – what's next year gonna look like?

“So people got that picture in their minds, and it's cool to be a part of that shit, you know what I'm saying? To help build that shit.”

The Knicks just made their first postseason since 2013 after a tremendous season under first-year head coach Tom Thibodeau, although it ended in disappointing fashion in the first round. The Nets meanwhile, finished as the No. 2 seed in the East and just fell short in the conference semifinals against the Bucks in seven games. If the Big 3 can all be healthy at once though, unlike 2020/21 where they all spent time on the shelf, Brooklyn will surely be in an NBA final.

We know how intense NY fans can be in the first place, whether it's in the NBA, MLB, or NFL. The Knicks faithful are especially wild (like when they chanted f*** Trae Young) and you better believe they don't like the Nets. But, Kevin Durant believes that's all part of building that basketball culture in the city again.
