The Brooklyn Nets faced the Miami Heat on Sunday and, well, things didn't go as planned. With James Harden already nursing a hamstring injury, superstar forward Kevin Durant had to head to the locker room in the first quarter against the Heat.

It's certainly not a good sign for Brooklyn fans or the staff with championship hopes surrounding the team.

Durant already missed quite a bit of time earlier this season with an injury and more games missed for their star would be devastating to a team who has been struggling to get healthy all season long.  Durant took a hit after collided with Trevor Ariza after just a few minutes of action during Sunday's contest.

The Nets star won't return to Sunday's contest as he was diagnosed with a left thigh contusion, per Shams Charania of The Athletic.

The Nets are now without two of their stars against the defending Eastern Conference Champions. As for Durant, he has only appeared in 23 games this year after missing all of last season recovering from an injury.

Durant was out from February 13 and finally made his much-anticipated return to the court on April 7 against New Orleans. So, as it seems, the latest injury to Durant might have Nets fans in a bit of a panic.

A few days back LaMarcus Aldridge announced his retirement from the NBA and the absence of Harden was already a lot for this group to overcome.

The bad news keeps coming for the Nets and Durant, who has battled back from various injuries over the past couple of seasons.

For the sake of the Nets and for the NBA in general, which has been ravaged by injuries this season, the hope is Durant can return to the floor and avoid serious injury as the Nets have been slotted as favorites in the Eastern Conference.
