Brooklyn Nets star Kevin Durant has picked up right where he left off prior to rupturing his Achilles in Game 5 of the 2019 NBA Finals, though the Nets have still tried to be cautious with respect to his health.

Brooklyn has avoided playing Durant in both ends of back-to-backs this season, which is only reasonable for a player returning from a major injury. But that will change Wednesday night, as Durant will be active for the team's game against the New York Knicks after helping the Nets to a win over the Denver Nuggets on Tuesday.

Durant has said he has no problem suiting up for back-to-backs, and that he would discuss the matter with management throughout the year.

The former league MVP will give it a go and see how his body feels Wednesday night after he torched the Nuggets on Tuesday. Durant scored 34 points on 12-for-18 shooting, including 4-for-7 from beyond the arc. He added 13 assists and pulled down nine rebounds, just narrowly missing a triple-double.

Durant has been nothing short of dominant through his first eight games. The 32-year-old is averaging 29.9 points, 7.8 rebounds and 5.8 assists, shooting 53.5 percent from the field and 44.7 percent from deep. The Nets star has displayed his usual ability to get to his spots and score from anywhere on the floor, while also showing off explosiveness in getting to the rim and drawing contact. In fact, Durant's 9.3 free throws per game are his highest average since the 2013-14 MVP season.

The Nets will continue to rely on Durant with Kyrie Irving still out of the rotation, though head coach Steve Nash is sure to keep a keen eye on Durant's minutes as he plays in his first back-to-back of the season.
