Brooklyn Nets star Kevin Durant made sure that his return would be special. Apart from showing off his impressive offensive arsenal, Durant also made fans notice the sweet kicks he wore on Wednesday against the New Orleans Pelicans.

After their dominant 139-111 beatdown of the Pelicans, Durant took to Instagram to share the story behind the all-yellow sneakers he wore for his much-anticipated return.

Met my brother @___devonte___ in 7th grade open gym at Walker Mill middle school, we still rockin. He created @enspirestreetwear a few years back and collabed with @nike on some KD13s. What a F***** honor it was to hoop in these. I know what my boy been through so I’m glad we could make this happen! Great win NETS WORLD.

Everything definitely fell into place that night. Durant was able to honor his good friend and helped the Nets get the win.

Durant came off the bench and played just 19 minutes. But he had a very productive night despite limited minutes, dropping 17 points on a perfect 5-of-5 shooting from the field and a 5-of-5 clip from the charity stripe. The former MVP also added seven rebounds and five assists. It was Durant's first game back since February 13 due to a strained right hamstring.

There was a ton of concern from Nets fans who know about Durant's injury history. Some even felt that the team was hiding the real severity of his injury. But such doubts were cast aside after Kevin Durant put on a show on his first game back. Expect the team, however, to limit his minutes as he slowly finds his fine form.
