Kevin Durant and the Brooklyn Nets took on the Denver Nuggets on Saturday night and it was an opportunity for the Nets to test their mettle against the current frontrunner for the MVP title in Nikola Jokic.

KD put his stamp on the game early on with an emphatic fastbreak slam, which wisely, Jokic decided to simply get out of the way of (h/t Nets on Twitter):

Kyrie Irving started off the play by forcing a turnover from the Nuggets. Kyrie led the charge on a 3-on-3 fastbreak play and he knew exactly what he wanted to do. Irving dropped a perfect bounce pass to a trailing Durant, who himself had a clear path to the rim. Jokic actually had the chance to try and contest Durant, but the Nuggets star knew what was good for him and decided to just let KD fly by.

Brooklyn has not been playing well of late, and they are in the midst of a four-game losing skid. This comes at a terrible time for the Nets, with the regular season winding down. They need to rack up the wins not only to secure their spot in the conference, but more importantly, in order to build momentum for what is going to be a grueling postseason ahead.
