Brooklyn Nets superstar Kevin Durant may be on the sidelines right now due to injury, but he sure is taking his spot in the limelight. It's not exactly the type of good publicity he would prefer though, as KD is now involved in another bit of controversy on social media.

Just recently, actor and outspoken critic Michael Rapaport posted several screenshots of alleged direct messages coming from Durant himself. In the conversation, Durant — if this is really him on the other end — clearly sent several threats to the actor while also challenging him to a fight:

That's a pretty nasty exchange between the pair, and if these messages indeed came from Durant, it is clear that he holds a considerable grudge against Rapaport. So much so, that the former league MVP went to the extent of threatening Rapaport with physical violence while also bringing in the actor's wife into the conversation.

All this seems to have stemmed from Durant's interview with Charles Barkley on Inside the NBA back in December. Rapaport took the first shot saying how KD was “super sensitive” in the interview. Durant seems to have taken exception to Rapoport's criticism and allegedly began bombarding the actor with unsavory direct messages.

Rapaport's post has unsurprisingly gone viral, and Durant appears to have already reacted to the issue via Twitter. In a separate exchange with a random fan, Durant claims that the heated exchange was nothing out of the ordinary between himself and Rapaport:

Did Durant just acknowledge that the messages did actually come from him?

Whatever the case may be, Rapaport responded to KD's comment, denying that this was a common occurrence between them:

In the exchange, the Nets star implied that Rapaport had already “lawyered up” which means that a lawsuit might be forthcoming. This development will certainly take things to a whole new level, with Kevin Durant being slapped with a legal issue that likely won't be going away anytime soon. Yikes.
