The Brooklyn Nets recently found themselves on a two-game losing skid after playing their seventh game of the season against the Washington Wizards.

Despite the team's struggles, Nets star Kyrie Irving took their recent losses in stride and directed his focus on the bigger picture which is winning a championship by the end of the season, per USA Today‘s Michael Sotto.

It was a tightly-contested matchup for both teams as former teammates in Kevin Durant and Russell Westbrook faced each other for the first time this season.

Irving led his team with a double-double performance of 30 points and 10 assists along with five assists. After losing his defender with a crossover, Irving pulled back for an open three-pointer that could've won the game but eventually missed the crucial shot.

The ball somehow landed on Durant's hands after the miss where he attempted a mid-range jumper of his own to seal the victory but couldn't find the bottom of the net as well. He finished the game with an all-around performance of 28 points, 11 rebounds, and seven assists.

On the opposite end, Bradley Beal headlined the Wizards' attack with 27 points, 10 rebounds, and five assists while Westbrook added 24 points, 10 assists, and five rebounds for their squad.

The Wizards went on to notch the 123-122 victory and improved to a 2-5 tally as they edged the Nets who dropped to a 3-4 record.

Nonetheless, Kyrie Irving and his squad will take the losses as learning points that will help them reach their full potential by the time they head to the playoffs.
