The Brooklyn Nets will finally see what their new-look “Big Three” has in store on Wednesday, as Kyrie Irving is slated to return against the Cleveland Cavaliers.

Head coach Steve Nash said he is expecting “Uncle Drew” to play Wednesday after a seven-game absence.

Kyrie Irving first left the team due to personal reasons, but his rationale was mostly unknown even to the likes of Nash and team management.

Kyrie was then under investigation following a video showing the star point guard without a mask during his sister's birthday party. The NBA placed Irving in the Health and Safety Protocols, adding he would forfeit game checks for each contest missed.

There were some questions as to whether Irving would even return to the Nets. Brooklyn's subsequent blockbuster trade for James Harden was even seen by some as a bit of an insurance move in the event Irving left the sport.

However, Nets general manager Sean Marks later clarified he had spoken with Irving regarding his intent to return. Kyrie has had to build his conditioning back up, but he should be good to go for Wednesday night's game against the Cavs. It should be a fascinating initial preview as to how the Nets will look at full strength.

Brooklyn has won each of its first two games with Harden in the rotation, including Monday night's victory over the Milwaukee Bucks. “The Beard” has gelled quite nicely with Kevin Durant, but it will be interesting to see whether the Nets retain that on-floor chemistry with Irving rejoining the team.
