Brooklyn Nets star Kyrie Irving erupted for 39 points in a Game 1 loss to the Boston Celtics and also let the C's fans hear it, flipping them off on numerous occasions and yelling profanity. In his post-game interview, Kyrie made it clear he wasn't going to back down and take hate from his former team's supporters, essentially succumbing to the fact he will face some hefty fines.

Well, by no surprise, Irving owes $50,000 to the NBA for his actions. Via ESPN's Tim Bontemps:

The Nets guard wanted the Celtics fans to just put the past in the past prior to this series but they chose not to. It's not too often you see a player clap back, either. Kyrie was clearly fed up with the hostility from them. The veteran was also fined $25,000 earlier this season after jawing with a Cavs fan in Cleveland.

Irving certainly didn't hold back after Game 1 on Sunday:

“I’mma have the same energy for them,” he said. “And it’s not every fan, I don’t wanna attack every fan, every Boston fan. When people start yelling p—- or b—- and f— you and all this stuff, [there’s] just so much you can take.”

To be honest, the Nets star has a point. There's only so much hate you can take. He might owe some money to the league, but all the boos and jeers only motivated him to go off and drop nearly 40 points. Let's hope he can do the same on Wednesday as Brooklyn looks to even up the series.
