The red-hot Brooklyn Nets will be without superstar Kyrie Irving during Saturday night's game against the Dallas Mavericks. The Nets are in second place in the Eastern Conference and are currently on an eight-game win streak. Per ESPN's Malika Andrews, Irving will be out due to right shoulder recovery.

The Dallas Mavericks have been riding a roller coaster this year so far, as they currently hold the ninth seed in the Western Conference. Luka Doncic and company plan to take advantage of a depleted Nets roster and bring their record back to .500. This is the perfect scenario for the Nets to finally receive an “L” in the losing column since early February.

Even though Brooklyn is on a hot streak, they've been able to remain competitive without Kevin Durant. James Harden and Kyrie Irving have carried the workload, but it'll be up to Harden and the rest of the squad to keep the win streak going.

Although Irving is sitting out this game, it doesn't sound like the injury is too serious. In fact, it's reported he's in shoulder recovery. It sounds more like Irving is simply resting his shoulder, more than sitting out attempting to recover from a serious injury. This isn't the worst news for Nets fans, as Irving should be back on the court soon.

This is a huge game for both organizations. With Dallas trying to stay within reach of the playoffs, you can expect Doncic to turn up the heat Saturday night. As for the Nets, even though they won't have Irving or Durant, Harden is still considered one of the best players in the league. This game is like a championship matchup between two heavyweight fighters, as both Harden and Doncic are prolific scorers in the NBA.
