Brooklyn Nets star LaMarcus Aldridge is now a proud member of the 20,000 points club alongside his teammates Kevin Durant and James Harden.

Entering Friday's contest with the Indiana Pacers, Aldridge needed just 10 points to reach the landmark feat. He finished with 21 points to help the Nets repel Rick Carlisle and Co. in what turned out to be a gritty contest.

As Marc J. Spears of The Undefeated noted, Aldridge is the 48th player to join the exclusive club. He also among just seven active players to reach 20,000 points–which include his two Nets teammates teammates, as well as LeBron James, Carmelo Anthony, Russell Westbrook and Chris Paul.

It's undoubtedly a remarkable achievement for LaMarcus Aldridge, especially if you consider what he's been through. To recall, he retired early last season after a heart scare that could put his life at risk if he continued playing.

Aldridge was able to get through that horror after some time of rest, allowing him to continue his basketball career and return to the Nets for another go at that elusive NBA title. Now, he's a member of the 20k club–a legacy that will never be taken away from him.

For what it's worth, Kevin Durant himself has been supportive of Aldridge in his quest to the milestone. When LMA retired abruptly last season, KD had some regrets since he was not able to help him break through the mark despite being just 49 points away.

As fait would have it, Aldridge returned and got the job done this time.
