Before the Philadelphia Sixers took on the Brooklyn Nets Sunday evening, Sixers head coach Brett Brown had high praise for Nets guard Caris LeVert.

Brooklyn has been in rebuilding mode ever since after the disastrous trade that sent multiple first round picks to the Boston Celtics for Paul Pierce and Kevin Garnett.

In order to try to at least rebuild their team, they needed to acquire first round picks from other teams, which is what they did when they selected Caris LeVert.

Since the start of the rebuild, LeVert has been one of most underrated players on this Nets team. He has shown flashes of possible star potential and being a very good two-way guard in this league. Very good two-way guards are very hard to find.

In each of his three seasons, his scoring and most of his stats have increased for the good since his rookie season. So far this season, LeVert is averaging 20 points, 4.6 rebounds, 4.4 assists and 1.2 steals per game. He is shooting 48.9 percent from the field and 33.3 percent from three point range.

To put it in perspective, LeVert averaged 8.2 points per game during his rookie year and then 12.1 points per game in his second year.

The Nets have a keeper in LeVert and need to keep him on their team for as long as possible. If he ever hits restricted free agency, some team will pay LeVert big money so the Nets do not much the offer sheet.

With Caris LeVert being one of the cornerstones for this Nets franchise, it is no wonder that Brown has notice this.
