During a recent appearance on ESPN's “The Jump,” Brooklyn Nets guard Spencer Dinwiddie spoke about how excited he is to play for Steve Nash next season.

Dinwiddie, a solid combo guard for the Nets, says Nash, the new head coach, is a “match made in heaven” for him.

“His basketball acumen is second to none,” Spencer Dinwiddie said about new Nets coach Steve Nash, via Nets Daily.

“Multi-time MVP, one of the greatest point guards of all time, somebody that you can learn a ton from. And being in the position that I’m in, he also had the kind of career where he played some of his best basketball late. So, just a career-arc and career path that I would love to follow. So it’s a match made in heaven for me.”

Nash has zero coaching experience under his belt, so some pundits questioned the Nets' decision to hire the Hall of Famer.

Since the two-time MVP already has a rapport with Kevin Durant, though, it made sense that the Nets hired Nash, who worked with KD on the Golden State Warriors from 2016 to 2019.

Brooklyn All-Star point guard Kyrie Irving, along with Dinwiddie, is going to be able to learn a lot about the game from Nash, who is one of the best pure point guards in NBA history. The Nets should compete for a title next season with Durant, Irving and Dinwiddie leading the way on the court and Nash coaching from the bench.

Without Durant, Irving and Dinwiddie at Walt Disney World, the Nets got swept by the Toronto Raptors in the first round of the playoffs. With that being said, the team should be motivated to win it all in 2020-21.
