It appears that even Spencer Dinwiddie himself is surprised that he wasn't traded by the Brooklyn Nets before the deadline passed on Thursday. The injured guard, who is rehabbing a partially torn ACL and is done for the season, took to Twitter to react in a hilarious way.

His meme of choice? A snippet of a Leonardo Dicaprio scene from the film “Wolf of Wall Street”.

The seemingly already overpowered Nets actually had the chance of adding even more talent before the deadline. Despite being injured, Dinwiddie was deemed as the team's most enticing trade piece since his $11 million salary this season could have netted them some valuable pieces.

If the Nets were to make a move, it would have involved the 27-year-old scorer somehow. But Brooklyn remained idle before the deadline passed and looks like Dinwiddie is still technically a Net.

Well, for now, at least. The 6-foot-5 combo guard is under contract with the Nets until 2022 but he does have a player option after this season. With a diminished role in Brooklyn upon his return, most pundits believe Dinwiddie is as good as gone and will likely opt out next season.

However, not a lot of teams might be willing to take a flier on his health and would want to see if Dinwiddie is indeed fully healed. In the event that happens, the former second-round pick can opt to stay with the Nets.

If all goes well, he can enter free agency in 2022 as a wanted man. But for now, as Dinwiddie suggests, the show must go on.
