The Brooklyn Nets have come up with a simple preventive measure to keep their stars productive for the entire season.

Having the best record in the East comes with a lot of hard work and it certainly is the narrative of the Nets‘ impressive run thus far. To avoid any future uncertainties and injuries, the team has decided to rest their stars one after the other.

On Wednesday, the Nets rested All-Stars Kevin Durant and LaMarcus Aldridge. However, it was  star point guard James Harden who has been arguably the most exhausted of them all, having averaged over 40 minutes in the team's first three games of a four-game road trip.

Lifting the lid on the subject, Nets head coach Steve Nash stressed that they are optimistic about seeing the positive results of their resting strategy, especially in the most crucial part of the season.

“He was open to it,” Nash said of Harden's resting via The New York Post. “He had a heavy stretch of games and we’re gonna try to steal some games for these guys here and there. And fortunately, he was open enough for [this] to be the night.”

“So we’ll miss him [Sunday] but it’s important and it pays this forward hopefully to the end of the season,” he continued.

Meanwhile, the Nets may have finally been seeing a glimmer of light at the end of the tunnel as there is now an apparent “renewed optimism” within Brooklyn that Kyrie Irving could make his return at some point this season.
