Right now, reports suggest that the Los Angeles Lakers are the frontrunners to land Kyrie Irving in a potential trade deal with the Brooklyn Nets. They aren't alone in their chase, though, with the Miami Heat also looking like they're in the mix for the enigmatic point guard.
Frank Isola of ESPN recently reported that according to his sources, the Heat could muster up a trade package centered around Kyle Lowry that might pique Brooklyn's interest:

The Heat have recently been linked to Kyrie's Nets teammate and real-life BFF, Kevin Durant. Miami is also reportedly working on a possible swoop for Utah Jazz superstar Donovan Mitchell. Both KD and Mitchell will require massive trade hauls, and while Miami is understandably interested in potentially bringing in either of these two studs to South Beach, they just might not have enough assets to make a deal work.
In this respect, Kyrie Irving could emerge as a bit of a Plan B for Miami. Despite his issues, Kyrie is still one of the top point guards in the NBA today. His current price tag might be a bit undervalued given the magnitude of the other players that are also in the market. If they act now, the Heat could take advantage of this opportunity and land Irving for a bargain. Kyle Lowry has been a revelation for Miami since he arrived last season, but at this point, he could end up becoming the sacrificial lamb.
