New York Giants Week 8 Predictions

4. Giants won’t be able to stop Patrick Mahomes

The Giants’ lopsided loss to the Dallas Cowboys and Los Angeles Rams shows that they might not be ready for Mahomes and the Chiefs just yet. Mahomes may be turning the ball over too much this season but the Giants’ defense isn’t enough to capitalize on that. It doesn’t help that Mahomes didn’t exactly have a great game last Sunday.

Not only was Mahomes placed in concussion protocol but it seemed like he couldn’t get his offense going versus the Tennessee Titans. Kansas will for sure want to clean this up and refurbish their offense. It’s just bad timing for the Giants because it comes at their expense. Kansas knows that they have to win Monday’s game vs. the Giants because there’s no way they want to face the Green Bay Packers coming from a loss. Moreover, it doesn’t help that Mahomes has proven multiple times now that he bounces back especially after a horrible game.

Expect a vengeful Patrick Mahomes to show up on Monday and have his best game yet.

3. The Giants lose the turnover battle

The Giants and Chiefs are very prone to turning the ball over. The defense currently has nine turnovers this season while the Chiefs have given up the ball over 17 times in their first seven games. Even if Kansas has looked sloppy over the past few weeks, the bottomline is that the Giants are not in their weight class and have a lower ceiling. It’s hard to assume that the Giants can win the turnover battle because there’s a good chance that the Chiefs can clean this up on Monday. And even if the Giants win the turnover battle, they can still lose in multiple ways.

2. They can contain Tyreek Hill and Travis Kelce but won’t fully stop them

Tyreek Hill and Travis Kelcee are major reasons why the Chiefs have such an elite offense. There’s actually statistical facts to prove it. Hill has 52 receptions for 641 yards and five touchdowns with five rushes for 63 yards. Meanwhile, Kelce has caught 105 passes for 1,416 yards and 11 touchdowns. Kelce currently has 45 receptions for 533 yards and four touchdowns this season. Can the Giants defense contain this? Maybe they cannot stop these two lethal weapons because even more elite defenses around the league have a hard time doing so.

1- They will lose the coaching battle

Chiefs’ coach Andy Reid is well aware that he needs to get his team on track after a sluggish start. He’s dubbed as one of the best coaches in the sport today and he’s going to show just why on Monday. Reid has proven in the past two seasons that he can game plan and win a match just by his tactics alone, and that’s exactly what’s going to happen on Monday. Sorry for the negativity, Giants fans. It’s just unfortunate that you catch the Chiefs at the wrong time.
