Former NFL star running back Adrian Peterson was arrested for an alleged domestic violence incident involving his wife on Super Bowl Sunday. Peterson denied the severity of the incident, calling it a disagreement.

On Tuesday, the former Minnesota Vikings stud's domestic violence arrest received a huge update, as reported by NBC Sports, citing TMZ.

NFL running back Adrian Peterson will not face felony domestic violence charges, TMZ Sports reports.

The case now will be sent to the Los Angeles City Attorney, who still could bring misdemeanor domestic charges against Peterson.

Of course, this doesn't mean that Peterson, a seven-time Pro Bowler is out of the clear. However, the fact that he won't be facing domestic violence charges seems to match what the NFL veteran said of the incident.

According to the 36-year-old Peterson, he was taking the ring off of his wife's hand when it scratched her finger. It was the scratch that prompted the police to arrest the former Vikings star.

Peterson's wife defended him, saying that he never hit her. It sounds like the former NFL MVP likely won't be in any legal trouble, though the case will have to proceed fully for that to be a certainty.
